There’s an air of confusion surrounding rapper and presenter Nomuzi Mabena’s whereabouts following an apparent car crash during an Instagram live stream.
In the graphic video, the rapper calls for upcoming artists to join her record label, Nomuzi Mabena Music.
“2019 is the year that Nomuzi Mabena Music finally signs people. If you’re a singer, dancer, rapper and you feel like you’re the star my label is looking for, I need you to come up,” Mabena said before we hear tyres screech and finally see a cracked window screen before the live stream ends.
It has been speculated that the video was staged and part of an awareness campaign by the Department of Transport to curtail the use of phones while driving.
Details around the whole incident are still sketchy as there has not been an official statement from the Department of Transport, Mabena or her PR team. However, a source in the City of Joburg’s transport department said they were not aware of the video or any involvement with the star.
