1. Man kills girlfriend then hangs himself at work

Norwood police grappled with a tough murder-suicide case after a Highlands North tenant allegedly hanged himself after apparently killing his girlfriend. Spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase, said the landlord told police there was a dead woman’s body in her rented cottage.

The body was discovered by the family of the deceased man who had apparently hanged himself at work.

Tshivase said, “The family was notified of his passing and they went to his rented cottage and that was when they made the discovery. The deceased woman was wrapped in a sheet behind the bed and had a deep wound on her neck.”

It is not clear what the motive for the murder was and the subsequent suicide, however, investigations are still underway as the case was never solved.
