Roedean Class of 2018 achieves top marks

PARKTOWN – A year of hard work has yielded great results for the Roedean School learners who competed for and achieved distinctions.

 

After a year of hard work, the results are out and Roedean School (SA) in Parktown was one of the excited schools to get their results.

The 2018 Matrics at the school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with 100 per cent bachelor degree university entrance pass. Seven girls achieved nine distinctions with seven also achieving eight distinctions and another seven took seven distinctions.

There was a total of 346 distinctions from 82 girls with each holding an average of 4.2 distinctions.

The subject with the highest number of distinctions was life orientation which gathered 64 of them. The second subject was English home language at 39 distinctions and in third place maths with 36.

Three girls, Ella Dougherty, Hannah Goldblatt and Kara Ranwell, were ranked in the top 5 per cent of IEB learners in five subjects and achieved a rating level of 7 in life orientation.

Executive head at Roedean, Murray Thomas said, “I am extremely pleased with these collective achievements and I congratulate all of you on your tremendous successes. Similarly, I appreciate the deep care and high quality of instruction and guidance that your teachers provided.”
