Orchards Clinic to resume main work in new year

ORANGE GROVE – The JDA have confirmed that the work on the Orchards Clinic will resume next year.

The Orchards Clinic’s reformative work has been completed with the main work ready to move forward in January next year.

A number of residents in the Orange Grove area have noticed the lack of activity at the construction site, worrying that there might be further delays to the already overdue health facility.

Spokesperson for the Johannesburg Development Agency Susan Monyai said the work done to fix a structural flaw in the clinic was successfully completed in October this year. The original scope of work, which includes the entire building site, will commence in January next year.

She added that the contractor is currently busy with the pricing for the balance of the scope of work.

The Orchards Clinic has been a work-in-progress since 2015 as a R40-million state-of-the-art centre as part of the City of Johannesburg’s corridors of freedom project, with the intent of providing improved health care services to residents in Orange Grove and surrounding areas.
