Eight suspects nabbed for different offences

JOHANNESBURG – Police are determined to fight crime but the public needs to also play its part.

 

Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested eight suspects for allegedly committing various unlawful acts.

Johannesburg Flying Squad spokesperson, Sergeant Desmond Subramoney, said the arrests were carried out between 16 and 19 November at various locations in Johannesburg.

“The suspects were arrested for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg and members recovered an unlicensed firearm, four hijacked vehicles including a Toyota Yaris and a VW Polo and further recovered a stolen Ford Ranger as well as another stolen vehicle,” said Subramoney.

“We also arrested two suspects for possession of drugs and one unlicensed firearm, a Taurus 9mm pistol.”

Subramoney added that they also arrested three suspects for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and three others were arrested for common assault.
