Over the weekend, One Source Live, solidified its status as a festival that celebrates African creativity and forward thinking. The festival pulled out all the stops for its second instalment this year.

One Source’s returned to Joburg’s famous No 1 Fox Street with a star-studded line-up that saw an explosion of limitless music, art, fashion and photography as Joburg experienced
never-seen-before performances, installations and collaborations in addition to showcasing unreleased music from Khuli Chana, One Source Live’s creative revolutionaries’ head honcho.

The festival was hailed for bringing together artists, musicians, fashion designers and photographers in Africa and the diaspora to collaborate and co-create as well as open up the barrier between the audience and artist in its attempt to showcase the continent’s creative revolution.

This year’s line-up included BET award-winning musician Sjava, budding muso, Manu Wolrdstar, hip-hop sensations Shane Eagle and DJ PH, Nigerian Afrobeat icon D’Banj, Gqom mavericks Distruction Boyz, kwaito legends Trompies and the festival’s creative revolutionaries Khuli Chana, Sho Madjozi, Trevor Stuurman and Osborne Macharia.

The amazing installations and performances shed light on Africa’s role as a creative force in the world – producing art and products that compete on a global scale.
