Sinatra tribute heads to Joburg

JOHANNESBURG – Singer Richard Shelton will bring Frank Sinatra's music to life at Joburg Theatre.

British performer Richard Shelton will bring Frank Sinatra’s music to life in his new show at the Joburg Theatre, March next year.

The show entitled Sinatra and Me will see Shelton interpreting some of Sinatra’s greatest hits alongside a 17-piece Joburg Big Band.

This highly acclaimed show kicks off in Durban at the Rockwood Theatre on 12 March next year with four shows before heading to Gauteng where it will be staged at the Joburg Theatre from 21 March.

Shelton said, “I’m very excited to be making my first visit to South Africa, and being in the position to combine my two passions, travel and the music of Frank Sinatra and a big band. It is the perfect way to make what I hope will be the first of many visits.”

He added, “The show is brought together with a narrative that looks at my time starring as Sinatra in London’s West End to the synchronicity between our lives, borne out by many incredible coincidences in LA including how his tuxedo literally walked into my life, a fact which was verified by Sir Roger Moore on live TV.”

Shelton will be taking the stage from 21 to 24 March 2019 at the Joburg Theatre. Ticket range from R150 to R400.
