Norwood Police Station to host the sector forum elections

NORWOOD – NCPF will be launching the Sector 3 and 4 community forums.

 

The elections for the new sector forum executives are closing in and residents in the Johannesburg north-east suburbs are invited to nominate their best candidates.

The elections will be held at the Norwood Police Station and they will be administered by the Norwood Community Policing Forum.

According to the forum’s secretary, Lesego Mookapele, nomination forms are still available at the station and anyone who wishes to nominate a person has until the last date.

Mookapele said elections are expected to take place on 20 November at the Blue Room at the police station later in the evening.

Mookapele said they will be launching the Sector 3 and 4 community forums and she encourages all residents interested in helping to fight crime to be available at 6pm.

“We would like to invite residents and businesses in the area to come and elect people who will form part of these forums,” she said.

“The main objective of setting up these forums is to help the police and the executive of the forum in combating crime and setting up neighbourhood watches to urge members of the community to be vigilant and participate in ensuring that their areas and precincts are safe.”

Sector 3: Norwood Sector

Sector 4: Orange Grove Sector

  • Victoria
  • Fellside

Mookapele said nominees will need their IDs for them to be nominated into participating in the election processes.

She said the rules of the elections will be further explained by a senior officer from the provincial police department.
