The South African Police Service Provincial Head Office of Gauteng recently hosted the Excellence Awards in Boksburg.
Parkview Police Station who had previously scooped awards at their cluster awards ceremony continued to shine as they took home two awards on the day. The two awards were the Admin Employee of the Year handed to the Parkview police spokesperson, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko and the Vispol Group of the Year handed to Lieutenant Colonel Lesetja Ledwaba.
The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Deliwe de Lange said the event was an opportunity for the ’employees to swap their caps for a crown’ as the theme for the day was ‘royalty’.
“Throughout the year we witness employees at different stages, those who strive for excellence in all they do which leads to recognition in the form of promotion and commendation awards; those that succumb to the evils and temptations and are dismissed and sadly those who lose their lives in the line of duty.”
She encouraged the officers to crown themselves with the intention of ensuring the safety of all the inhabitants of Gauteng.
Captain Sibeko expressed her joy in the ‘overwhelming and unexpected achievement’ that the station had been bestowed with. The Parkview Police Station Commander, Colonel Theledi Zacharia Gopane also commended the station officers’ teamwork and said he was proud of their milestone achievement from the cluster to the provincial level.
