Inyoni Creek set to host fun walk

LYNDHURST – The Inyoni Creek Village will be hosting a special walk at their Summer Fest.

Inyoni Creek will be hosting a special Some Walk with Pride or Take a Ride event at their Summer Fest on 3 November.

Spokesperson of the village Cathy Grosvenor said, “The Rand Aid retirement village in Lyndhurst has a bumper fun day planned and one of the highlights will be a fun walk through the beautiful, rambling village which has a picturesque dam and prolific birdlife.”

The walk will be running alongside numerous other events at the Summer Fest including performances by pipe bands, a special raffle and delicious food on sale.

Grosvenor said, “The walk is suitable for the whole family because it offers the option of a 700m wheelchair and pram route, as well as a 2,5km route.”

“The R25 entry fee, which is payable on the day, includes a bottle of water for all participants and chocolate medals for the first 60 finishers. Participants need not pre-enter, just be there in time to do so before the walk gets underway at 10am. Wheelchair and mobility scooter participants will not pay an entrance fee.”

The Summer Fest takes place between 9am and 3pm, with the walk starting at 10am. For more information, residents can call Marinda Looyen on 011 430 2014.
