Mutt Walk attracts over 200 supporters at the Killarney Country Club

KILLARNEY – Community members and their dogs enjoy some fun in the sun at the Mutt Walk in aid of the Sandton SPCA.

More than 200 community members and their dogs came out to support the Mutt Walk at Killarney Country Club in aid of the Sandton SPCA on the morning of 28 October.

Marketing manager for the Sandton SPCA Jean-Pierre van Wyk said all the funds raised from the event would be used for SPCA maintenance projects including security upgrades, kennel painting and the building of quarantine kennels.

“The event was not just a case of raising funds but also about creating a sense of community and family while having fun,” said Van Wyk.

“We were pleased with the support shown by the community which exceeded our expectations.”

The bright, sunny day provided ideal weather conditions for a dog walk on the pristine Killarney Country Club grounds.

“Everybody had fun on the day and it was terrific to see the smiles on everyone’s faces as they enjoyed the walk with their dogs.”

The Sandton SPCA thanks the Killarney Country Club and La Vie en Rose restaurant for catering on the day as well as all the sponsors, brand partners and participants who made the event possible.
