Grade 2 and 3 classes at St Teresa’s School in Craighall Park entertained parents, family and friends performing in their bi-annual concert Let It Grow, The Musical.
Adapted by drama teacher, Kate Mobey, from Dr Seuss’ book The Lorax, the concert chronicles the plight of the environment in the town of Thneedville where all the Truffala trees have been cut down by the Once-ler to create Thneeds. The land is left barren and deserted by all inhabitants.
Taking on the parts of storytellers, the Lorax, the Once-ler and various animals, the girls encouraged the audience to work together to reduce, reuse and recycle through a wonderful celebration of song, dance and dialogue.
Imparting a strong message of hope for the future, the audience was implored to save our beautiful planet and return it to its former glory because ‘unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not’.
