6 October: Whispering Truth to Power

6 October: Disco Soupe

This year, the Alliance Française of Johannesburg has decided to focus on eco-friendly food practices and on the strong social power of food and cooking by organising one of the first disco soups in Joburg. Disco Soupe is a ‘protest soup’ against food. In France, the movement was created in Paris in 2012 and works to raise public awareness of the problem of food waste. Kids will be treated to a fun day of cooking with chefs, movie screenings and disco soupe!

7 October: Can Do In The City

If you can’t make it to Cape Town for Rocking The Daisies, do not despair because the likes of Amine, 6LACK, and Majid Jordan are headed to Joburg for Can Do In The City as it sets to transform Ellis Park into an urban festival wonderland. 7 October: Spooky City Skate

October is Halloween Month and for this month City Skates has called on everyone to dress up for Halloween and skate and tour the City. Joining fee is only R50 for a full day of tours, slips, falls and full-on adrenaline.
