Liquor store robbery under investigation

YEOVILLE – The police are investigating a business robbery in Yeoville.

 

The police are investigating a case of business robbery following an incident at a liquor store in Yeoville.

Spokesperson for the Yeoville Police Station Captain Sifiso Mabizela said that the incident took place on 22 September at 7.50pm when four suspects entered the liquor store.

He added that three of the suspects approached the cashier and told him to give them the keys to the safe, which he said he didn’t have. One suspect stood outside with a firearm to stand guard. The suspects inside the store broke the cash till and left with it.

Mabizela said that the till contained approximately R7 000. No one was injured during the robbery.

“Anyone with information that could help with the arrest of the suspects is urged to come forward,” concluded Mabizela.
