Night School brings back hilarious high school memories

JOBURG – Kevin Hart’s latest film takes audience back to school.

When was the last time you laughed until your tummy hurt and had high school nostalgia all at once? Well, that’s what you get when you watch Night School, a Malcolm D. Lee-directed comedy which stars funnyman Kevin Hart and the equally humourous Tiffany Haddish as they take us back to school – in a hilarious way.

The story follows a group of adults who set out to earn their General Equivalency Diploma’s (GED). Hart stars as Teddy Walker, a successful salesman whose life takes an unexpected turn when he accidentally burns down his place of employment. Forced to attend night school to get his GED, he soon finds himself dealing with a group of adult misfit students, his former high school arch-rival and a feisty teacher, played by Haddish, who doesn’t think he’s that smart.

The plot follows the classic comedy film format which begins on a rosy and light-hearted note, proceeding to moments of chaos, laughter and heartfelt moments before finally stopping with a happy end. Without giving too much away, Night School sees Haddish take on a role that sees her show her more compassionate yet hold-no-bars side while Hart does ‘Kevin Hart’ things.

Showing in cinemas across the country on 28 September, Night School is a must-see comedy blockbuster with hilarious life-lessons – perfect for a Friday night at the movies.
