Thirty Keyes development hosts a private preview at the Keyes Art Mile

ROSEBANK – A new development which is perfectly suited to art lovers is coming to Keyes Avenue.

Art lovers and trendsetters got dressed up for a private preview of Thirty Keyes apartment complex before sales were opened to the public.

The soon-to-be-built complex is situated diagonally opposite the Keyes Art Mile. The trendy units bring together cutting-edge architectural design by StudioMAS drawing on classical precedents of open-air arcades, atria, and colonnades to create a shared space encouraging community but also inviting privacy.

StudioMAS architect Pierre Swanepoel explained that the units will be planted with indigenous highveld grasses, shrubs and perennials. Looking at complexes in Amsterdam and Paris for inspiration, designers will create a central courtyard accessible from all the apartments.

Swanepoel and developer Anton Taljaard explained that they chose this space because it is situated on the ‘golden mile’ from Braamfontein to Sandton where the City has the mandate to promote density. It is also within walking distance to the Gautrain, restaurants, art galleries, schools and a clinic.

Developers believe that the way Joburg is growing, soon many will opt to walk to work and use public transport as is popular in many other parts of the world where traffic has worsened.

They hope to begin building near the end of this year in hope that the development will be completed by the end of 2020.
