This is ultimately the foundation of any trip and your end goal, so make sure it’s a worthwhile destination. With so many beautiful places to see in South Africa it may seem like a daunting task. This one is a no-brainier, there’s no way you can go on a trip without any money. It’s wise to always start out the year with vacation budget where you throw in a couple of rands and then letting it accumulate up until the time of your trip. Spring is usually the least expensive time to travel. Make sure to look out for budget-friendly places and keep some extra cash on-deck just in case you might need an extra pair of socks.

It is made easier when you actually know the kind of place you’re going to, for instance, if you’re going to Durban you obviously have to pack summer clothes, sandals, a towel and sunblock to name a few, so always pack what you’ll really need and take extra cash just in case you might need to buy something.

Unless you’re on a flight or a short road trip, time spent going to your travel destination can be very irritating. You might run into traffic, endless toll gates, too many pit stops and having to sit in one spot for a long time.
