One left dead in Yeoville

YEOVILLE – The Yeoville police have opened a case of murder following a shooting on 7 September.

 

A case of murder is being investigated by the Yeoville police following a shooting in Bellevue East on 7 September.

Spokesperson for the Yeoville Police Station Captain Sifiso Mabizela said the incident began when the suspect was involved in an argument with the deceased who was attacked at a guest house in Yeoville.

He said the suspect ran away but at 2am they crossed paths at a filling station on Regent Street in Bellevue East.

Mabizela added that the suspect shot the victim three times while the victim’s two friends fled the scene. The victim was pronounced dead by paramedics while the suspect was arrested by the Yeoville police and charged with murder.

He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court. The investigation is still ongoing.
