Don’t miss St Teresa’s inaugural art festival!

ROSEBANK – On Saturday, 8 September, St Teresa's School, located on the Keyes Art Mile, launches the first-of-its-kind St Teresa's Art Festival.

Community members and art lovers at large are invited to a first-of-its-kind art festival called St Teresa’s Art Festival (Start). This is an event that aims to make art appreciation, learning and buying more accessible and welcoming to all.

St Teresa’s Art Festival is:

The festival will take visitors on a journey through a variety of art mediums – from painting to virtual reality, and from production to curating. There’ll be workshops and activities in printmaking, screen-printing, etching, origami, watercolour, graffiti, paintball art, clay and virtual reality to name just a few.

Visitors will hear from guest speakers from the local art industry including Marco Cianfanelli, the renowned sculptor famous for the portrait sculpture of Nelson Mandela at the Mandela Capture Site in KwaZulu-Natal; Wilhelm van Rensburg, a senior art specialist at Strauss and Co Fine Art, South Africa’s leading art auction house and Laura Windvogel also known as Lady Skollie, a visual artist whose artistic expression revolves around the themes of gender roles and feminism.

St Teresa’s school’s partnership with the Keyes Art Mile and the proximity to established galleries in Rosebank make it the ideal location to host an event of this nature. Here, families and younger audiences can share their appreciation for art during the cultural highlight of the year, Art Week Joburg.
