Two arrested for attempted murder

JOHANNESBURG – Two suspects were arrested for attempted murder on 26 August.

 

Members of the Johannesburg Central Police arrested two suspects for an attempted murder committed in Fordsburg.

Spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele said, “It is alleged that one of the suspects shot a 38-year old male car guard once in the upper body in Fordsburg 26 August at 3.30pm.”

According to Mbele the victim had an argument with a driver of a white Toyota Etios. The driver assaulted him and he retaliated, the passenger came out from the car and shot the car guard once in the upper body before they fled the scene.

Another motorist alerted the police and the victim was taken to the nearest hospital.

Mbele added, “The firearm used in the commission of the crime was recovered from the suspect, he used his licensed firearm to shoot the car guard.”

The investigation is underway and suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
