Thugs get away with undisclosed amount of money after bombing ATM

ALEXANDRA – Police urge members of the public to contact them if they have any information regarding the ATM bombing.

 

The South African Police Service has opened a case of robbery after a group of men bombed an ATM on the corner of 16th Avenue and Joe Nhlanhla Street on 14 August.

According to Captain Stephen Malatjie of Alexandra Police Station, no one was hurt or injured when the incident happened on Tuesday evening. “At around 8:30pm on the corner of 16th Avenue and John Brand on Tuesday, a group of men wielding rifles instructed street vendors to vacate the area and they blocked the intersection and bombed the ATM and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.”

The police have urged members of the public with information to contact Alexandra Police Station detective’s commander Colonel Baloyi on his cell phone number 082 319 9942 or at the Alexandra Police Station on 011 321 7600 during office hours.
