Selflessness and love for people drive Sinqobile Semane

ALEXANDRA– Sinqobile Semane said she wants to help her peers gain confidence in themselves.

Twenty-one-year-old Sinqobile Semane who grew up in uMzimkhulu, a small rural town of KwaZulu-Natal, and now lives in Alexandra, has made it through to the semi-finals of Miss Eagle South Africa 2018.

This was after she successfully completed her online first stage challenges of the competition.

“Miss Eagle South Africa Pageant is innovative and a pioneer of future beauty pageants. It embraces technology and social media, and re-defines the rules, processes and platforms of pageantry,” Sinqobile said.

“After finishing my matric in 2016 I couldn’t go to university to further my studies due to the financial situation at home. I left my rural town to live with my aunt here in Alexandra who last year left me behind to work in Dubai,” she said.

Sinqobile works as a volunteer in a local rehabilitation centre and aspires to be an interior designer. She said she learnt about the competition on social media (Facebook) and decided to give it a try. “One day as I was browsing through Facebook, I came across a Miss Eagle SA advertisement and decided to register to partake in this year’s competition. Through Miss Eagle, I’ve learned a lot of things as young women and I want to help my peers to also learn what I’ve learned.”

For her to progress to the finals of the competition which will be staged in Sun Coast Casino, Durban on 17 December, she will have to get maximum votes from the members of the public who can vote for her – simply SMS Sinqobile to 35334.
