Don’t miss Mashaba’s resident report back in Sandringham tonight

SANDRINGHAM – All members are welcome to participate including those from other political parties.

City of Johannesburg Mayor Herman Mashaba is expected to report back to the residents at the Jabula Recreation Centre in Sandringham on 22 August, starting at 6:30 in the evening.

The mayor will be visiting the area in his capacity as a member and leader of the Democratic Alliance but everyone who wishes to attend is invited.

The visit, according to DA leader in Johannesburg, Manny de Freitas, is part of a city-wide tour of a series of such similar meetings in the City.

De Freitas said members of the party and the general public are welcome to attend and interact with the mayor.

He said the meeting will also afford residents a platform to raise their service delivery concerns, thus everyone is welcome to attend.

“Mashaba’s visit is part of the 2019 election campaign but also part of a report-back campaign to the residents of Johannesburg’s north-eastern suburbs,” said De Freitas.

“Everyone is most welcome, it’s not a closed meeting. Everyone, and not just DA members, will be able to listen, interact and pose questions to the mayor.”

All members are welcome to participate including those from other political parties, but the main focus is to report back to the community, he added.

It is not yet clear what the agenda will be on the day.

Many residents in the Johannesburg north-eastern suburbs are concerned about their rates and taxes, high water and electricity bills, as well as other municipal service delivery issues and this is a chance for them to get answers to their problems.
