A 32-year-old security guard was arrested for attempted murder on 5 August.
Spokesperson for the Johannesburg Central Police Station Captain Xoli Mbele said the incident occurred at 12pm at the Braamfontein Railway Station. “It is alleged that the security guard shot a 25-year-old male once in the upper body, the motive for the shooting is not yet known. The victim was taken to hospital by an ambulance. Police confiscated the firearm used in the commission of a crime.”
An investigation is underway and the suspect will make his first appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 8 August.
