ICYMI: Watch #FurMustFall protest in Rosebank

ROSEBANK – Protest against the distribution and purchasing of fur products.

According to Beauty Without Cruelty  SA (BWC), about 30 million animals are raised in cages and killed worldwide for fur every year, a couple of million of whom are cats and dogs.

BWC adds that “These days, due to false labelling, you can buy a child’s or companion animal’s toy or an item of clothing with a trim without realizing you are buying the product of a Chinese fur farm—an animal who was once captive in a wire cage, eventually skinned alive.”

With this in mind, a couple animal lovers and antifur protesters made their way to the Jan Smuts and Tyrwhitt avenues intersection in Rosebank on 18 August.

Rosebank Killarney Gazette journalist, Sarah Kingon was there to capture some of the action.
