Jenny Venter, head of marketing at Kingsmead College said this was the school’s third year of their Mandela Day initiative.
The school has invited members of the community to volunteer as well as members of the Community Hours organisation to take part.

The initiative involves making sleeping bags using newspapers and recycled plastic and after the finished product they add a scarf inside, for a yet undisclosed cause.
Karen Landi of Community Hours said this was their third year working with the college and they hoped to create a meaningful and engaging Mandela Day event.
