Police appeal for help in identifying murdered body

SANDRINGHAM – The Sandringham police are calling on the community to assist with any information regarding a murder.

 

The Sandringham police are investigating a case of murder following the discovery of a body in Lombardy East on 16 June.

A spokesperson for the station, Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said police were called to the scene at 8.30pm. The body was found in the veld at the back of a City Power substation.

He added, “Upon further investigation, it was discovered that an African male between the ages of 30 and 50 years old was found murdered. He had bullet wounds to his head and lower body.”

The body was clothed in a navy jacket, khaki trousers and a red and white striped golf shirt. A backpack containing a blue work suit and a white beanie was found next to the body.

Mamabolo said, “We appeal to the community or anyone who is missing a family member, to come forward and assist the police with this case.”
