It has been reported that taxi drivers have left commuters stranded because of Operation Buya Mthetho’s clampdown.
The operation has impounded 500 minibus taxis since its launch in February. However, Metro police is of the view that this operation was justified as the taxis were found to be in ‘poor condition’, said spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar in a press statement.
