GOAT! Cristiano Ronaldo solidifies his status as the greatest soccer player of all time

JOBURG – Cristiano Ronaldo breaks the European record for international goals.

Following a sub-par performance against Morocco on 20 June, Cristiano Ronaldo led the Portuguese to a 1–0 victory over the unlucky North African side.

Not only did Portugal’s victory lead to Morocco being the first team to be eliminated from the World Cup, but Ronaldo has now broken the European record for international goals with his 85th strike for Portugal.

Ronaldo headed his fourth goal of the tournament after four minutes, following his hat-trick in the 3–3 draw with Spain, to take the Portuguese to four points and top of Group B.

Ronaldo’s goal-scoring streak makes him a true GOAT (greatest of all time):

The highest European international goal scorer ever.

The highest goal scorer in Real Madrid’s history.

The highest goal scorer in Champions League history.
