‘My son robbed me’

GRESWOLD – Local resident was attacked and hijacked by his son and is calling for information regarding the whereabouts of his son.

An elderly Greswold resident says he was attacked and robbed of his car by his adopted son on 4 May.

“A week ago I realised that he had been stealing from me in the evening… So I told him that he had to leave.

Hans Sticht is missing.

He alleged that [his son] Hans stole some meat cutters and galvanized sheeting. “On 4 May I got home and he was outside demanding my car but I told him that he can only have it if he returns some of the things he stole.”

Sticht invited him into the house to sit down and talk about it, but an argument ensued. “He started fighting me and I pepper sprayed him. He then grabbed a knife and attacked me with it. He cut my hand and knocked me down. Then he took my car and I haven’t seen him again.”

This car was allegedly stolen by Hans Sticht.

After being treated for his injuries he said he reported the incident to the Bramley Police Station which, he said, has led to no new information about his car or son’s whereabouts. The North Eastern Tribune reached out to the station for comment but nothing was received by the time of publication.

Sticht is calling on the community to help him find his son and car.

The car’s registration number is XMP 441 GP and anyone with information can contact Sticht on 063 825 6674 or Bramley Police Station on 011 445 4113.
