Johannesburg taxi driver arrested for stolen trailer

LOMBARDY EAST – The trailer was reported stolen at Brackenfell Police Station.

 

A 37-year-old driver of a Toyota Quantum was arrested on 25 May by the Johannesburg Flying Squad during a routine stop and search in Lombardy East.

According to the spokesperson for the police, Sergeant Desmond Subramoney, the incident took place on the N3 and London Road off-ramp.

The driver has been charged with possession of stolen property, said Subramoney.

“While our officers were busy conducting their stop and search and crime prevention duties, they pulled over a Toyota Quantum with a trailer and, after inspecting the trailer, it was discovered that the trailer was reported stolen at Brackenfell Police Station,” he said.

The driver of the Toyota quantum was arrested for possession of stolen property and investigations continue, he added.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
