The Orchards-based Jackie’s Playschool has expanded their facilities with a new castle jungle gym, a dream diner in the playground and renovations to their learning centre.
The playschool has been part of the local community for almost 21 years. Founder Jacqueline van der Westhuizen said, “I decided I wanted the best facilities for my small playschool so we added new equipment to the play area and expanded the learning centre.
“The additions have so many benefits such as so much room for activities and help the kids’ growth and learning. All the new facilities will help them make leaps and strides while having fun.”

The additions to the playschool were done between December last year and March this year with new playground equipment coming from Krugersdorp-based business, Playground Wizards. Van der Westhuizen added that they have updated their everyday routines and curriculum for the children.
The playschool also has been able to demarcate their learning centre with a bigger reading corner, and a dedicated arts and crafts section for children to have fun.
Van der Westhuizen added,”Jackie’s playschool has always been a home away from home and with all these changes we’ve made, we are a local nursery with all the facilities to compete with some of the best schools. This will lead to more great learning experiences for the children.”
