Police hold prayer gathering on World Day of Prayer

PARKVIEW – Parkview and Rosebank police join in on World Day of Prayer commemorations.

Police members from across the Johannesburg East cluster, which includes Parkview, Jeppe, Cleveland, Rosebank, Hillbrow, Yeoville and Norwood Police Stations, hosted a women’s World Day of Prayer gathering at the Hillbrow Police Station.

The event, on 2 March, was initiated by the South African Police Service Employee Health and Wellness Unit as part of the Spiritual Services mandate in each station. The objective of the prayer day was to create awareness around being good stewards of the environment, among other things.

“The effects of climate change was also a topic of discussion and prayers for the safekeeping and protection of the men and women who selflessly serve the country and its citizens, were passed,” said captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for the Parkview police, who’d attended the event.
