#ICYMI: Spotify is now available in South Africa

JOBURG – South Africans can expect to stream from a variety of proudly South African playlists on Spotify.

One of the world’s leading music streaming service providers launched in South Africa on Tuesday.

Founded in Sweden in 2006, Spotify has over 150 million users subscribed to its services.

For only R59 a month, South Africans can choose to stream and download from a wide selection of music from around the world.

To try out the services offered, you have a one-month free subscription to Spotify Premium, but you also have the option of choosing the free service.

The Premium price matches offerings of the Google’s PlayMusic, Apple’s iTunes and Deezer, among others.

South Africans can expect to enjoy local-inspired playlists like gqom, hip-hop and house music.

The app is available for free on Google Play and Apple iStore.

Local musicians on social media welcomed the app to Mzansi.
