Sacred Heart College attends leadership camp

JOHANNESBURG – The Sacred Heart College Grade 6 class attended a leadership camp in Hekpoort.

The Grade 6 class at Sacred Heart College spent a fulfilling weekend at a leadership camp at Camp Nelu in Hekpoort at the end of February.

Spokesperson for the school Lynn Walker said, “The camp went extremely well and the pupils were very engaged in an exciting programme.”

Walker said the children were divided into four groups with their own camp counsellor before being asked to give their groups names, a song and to design a crest. They were then set out to finish four activities.

“In the great egg drop, teams had to design a mechanism to protect an egg that was then dropped from a 6-metre height. Only one team succeeded. The night orienteering also proved too challenging for some groups.”

Walker added that the entire experience was positive.
