Mamabolo added that the suspects held up the victim at gunpoint and demanded she gives them her ring. Once she handed it over they escaped before the victim alerted the authorities.

The suspects were chased by Cap Security where a shootout took place on the N3 offramp near Modderfontein Road in Lombardy East where one suspect was shot and injured. All three suspects were arrested at the scene.

Mamabolo said the suspects were driving a white Mercedez-Benz and, upon further investigation, they found two pistols in the car along with various housebreaking implements.

The suspects will appear in court while the injured suspect is currently in hospital under police guard.
