Grade 8s shine at Parktown Girls’ induction

PARKTOWN – The induction of Parktown Girls' newcomers turned out to be a fun and happy occasion.

Parktown High School for Girls held its Grade 8 induction on 15 February.

“This is a special evening where we officially welcome our Grade 8 learners and their parents and guardians into the Parktown family,” said Kerry Liss, spokesperson for the school.

“It was a fun and happy occasion and we hope this will pave the way for five happy years ahead for this year’s Grade 8s.”

Liss said a fantastic skit, forming part of the induction, was put on show by the representative council of schoolchildren.

“The skit highlighted the different values of the school’s ‘iShine’ motto. It epitomised the essence of a true Parktown girl.”

She said a candle ceremony provided a wonderful visual image of the fact that all the girls will have the opportunity to shine and will also help others to shine.

Liss thanked the Grade 8 parents and guardians for attending and sharing in this memorable evening.
