Waterfall Avenue roadworks to be completed soon

CRAIGHALL PARK – An upgrade to the sewer system on Watefall Avenue should be concluded soon.

Waterfall Avenue in Craighall Park has had to undergo some major road construction due to an overloaded sewer system, however, the work should be completed soon.

Ward 90 councillor Martin Williams told the Rosebank Killarney Gazette that he had visited the site about a week ago to inquire about the progress of the construction.

The road has been temporarily closed off entirely during some periods while one lane has been opened at other times.

Williams added that he had been informed that the work should be completed by the end of the week. Although Williams has received one or two queries about the construction there have not been complaints about the work.

Bertha Peters-Scheepers, the spokesperson for the Johannesburg Roads Agency said, “The JRA has granted a way leave for a sewer upgrade at Waterfall Avenue by a private developer.”

Peters-Scheepers added that the JRA way leave’s team is monitoring progress, and the construction is expected to be completed by 28 February.
