Norwood police hunt Orange Grove house robber

Orange Grove – Help the police find the suspect who allegedly stabbed and robbed his victim.

 

An Orange Grove man has been a victim of the same robber for the second time in four months after the suspect stabbed and robbed him his valuables.

According to the police, the latest incident happened in 8th Street in Orange Grove on 14 January while the first incident occurred in August last year. The suspect entered the victim’s house and tied a rope around his neck before stabbing him in the body multiple times.

Captain Elliot Tshivhase, spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station, said the victim believes that he would be able to identify the robber if he were to see him again.

Tshivhase said the suspect is still at large and the police are looking for him.

“The suspect entered the house and assaulted the victim before he stole the victim’s wallet with an amount of R4 000 inside,” said Tshivhase.

“He then took some clothes, shoes and other valuables including a cellphone and fled the scene. The total amount of the stolen valuables is estimated to be about R6 000 in total.”

The police are still looking for the suspect, and anyone with information must please contact them, said Tshivhase.
