Fairvale orphans centre sell bracelets to raise funds

FAIRVALE – All funds raised by purchasing a bracelet will go to the care of 200 vulnerable, abandoned and orphaned children.

As part of their festive season fundraising initiative, Impilo Child Protection and Adoption centre in Fairvale Ext is selling Love Teddy bracelets.

The centre launched their fundraiser as a Christmas initiative for individuals and companies. The Love Teddy bracelets, made by Elegance Jewellers, come in a variety of coloured strings and the centre said they could be given to company’s staff and clients as gifts.

By purchasing a bracelet, director at Impilo, Sue Krawitz said the public would be supporting more than 200 orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned children cared for at their centres.

Impilo Child Protection and Adoption Centre in Fairvale is selling Love Teddy bracelets to raise funds for their centre.

The project was initiated by the King David High School Linksfield Outreach committee after the centre had reached out for their support, said Krawitz. “Thus far, the project has raised about R120 000 with an overwhelming response to the bracelets. The fundraiser will run throughout the festive season.

“This is because during this time of the year most people celebrate with their families, so we ask that they remember the children who do not have families or who are unable to live with their families.”

The centre welcomes financial and non-financial donations and Krawitz cited powdered baby milk as the most needed.

“We need Nan 1 and 2 and would appreciate donations of this formula. We would also appreciate financial support as we have to pay lights and water and salaries.”
