Bramley welcomes new patrollers

BRAMLEY – Bramley police welcomes a new group of community patrollers on 21 October.

The Bramley Police Station celebrated its community patrollers at a special uniform handover on 21 October.

Acting spokesperson for the station, Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo said, “The Station commander, Colonel Owen King, welcomed about 20 community patrollers.”

The event saw the station commander inducting the patrollers, giving them the expectations in their role for policing the community. Mamabolo added, “The commander also emphasised that the patrollers must work hand-in-hand with the police.”

The community patrollers work under the local community policing forum and the police on a voluntary basis, attending sector meetings and reporting crimes to on-duty officers. They were issued reflective jackets, trousers, caps and boots.

Mamabolo concluded, “The station commander informed the new patrollers that he looks forward to working with them in the future and thanked them for their acceptance to work with the Bramley police.”
