The #MeToo campaign recently went viral on social media when victims of sexual assault spoke out about their experiences. We asked residents their thoughts on the campaign, here’s what they had to say:
CHARLOTTE NGUBANE : I think it is very important for people to speak out about abuse – then they can also get the help and support they need.MIKELA SIGRIST: You need to be able to share your opinions so everyone else can know what’s going on and your community can come out and support you.RONNIUS MAETSI: I think its good for people to speak out because it brings attention to the women who have suffered and they can get the help that they need.BIANCA BUSCH: I think for the first time it gives women as a group a little more confidence to speak out about what has happened in the past.
