ICYMI: Houghton gym evacuated after gas leak, 3 employees treated for minor symptoms
HOUGHTON – It has been reported that a fitness gym was evacuated after the strong smell of chlorine was detected.
It has been reported that a fitness gym was evacuated after the strong smell of chlorine was detected. All staff members were evacuated from the building, according to Arrive Alive.
A Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic responded to the scene at 11.20am and assessed three patients at the scene; two males and a female.
The three employees appeared to have inhaled some of the gas. Two had relatively minor to moderate symptoms while the third had only slight symptoms.
All three were in stable condition and were transported by Netcare 911 and another ambulance service to hospital for further assessment.
