Parkview police celebrate six-year sentence for housebreaker

PARKVIEW – Parkview police commend Constable Mmeli Mzolo for his investigation of the case.

Parkview Police Station is celebrating the six-year sentence of a man convicted of housebreaking and theft.

According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the spokesperson for the station, the 34-year-old man broke into a residence on 29 October last year.

“The victim left his home and when he returned, he discovered that the cottage door was forced opened and jewellery, a cellphone, pots, taps and R1 800 cash were stolen,” said Sibeko.

He added that the value of the stolen items were valued at R25 000.

“The case was allocated to Constable Mmeli Mzolo for investigation. The suspect was arrested for housebreaking and theft and with all the evidence that was gathered by Mzolo he managed to secure a conviction.”

Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court found Landi Mabuza guilty and sentenced him to six years’ imprisonment.

Sibeko said Parkview police would continue to arrest and investigate those caught on the wrong side of the law.
