A video of a shocking hit-and-run incident in the Johannesburg CBD is making the rounds on social media.
Nana Radebe, Johannesburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, confirmed that a man had been hit by a car in a hit-and-run incident that had occurred near the intersection of Von Wielligh and Jeppe streets in downtown Johannesburg, on 14 September.
A copy of the video which was posted on the Intelligence Bureau SA Facebook page has had more than 98 000 views so far.
The video shows a man crossing a road and then slowing down before an oncoming white car. The car then swerves in his direction, hitting him and then dragging him before speeding off. At no point does the car attempt to stop.
Radebe added that the man was taken to Hillbrow Clinic.
