Two suspects arrested after hijacking a motorbike in Houghton

Norwood – The two suspects admitted to the crime and were immediately detained by the police.

Two suspects were arrested on 27 August by the Norwood police in connection with the possession of a hijacked motorbike.

According to Norwood police spokesperson, captain Elliot Tshivhase, the men confessed to the crime.

Tshivhase said two of their officers reacted to a complaint aired on the police radio network about an incident on the corner of Oxford Road and Jellico Street in Houghton.

On arrival, they found three men who were arguing.

“The officers approached them and one of them told the officers that the other two hijacked [his] motorbike,” said Tshivhase.

“The officers approached the two men who were sitting inside a car and asked them if they knew anything about the accusations. They admitted that they knew about it.

“They then told the police the motorbike was parked in Hillbrow on the corner of Abel and Tudhope streets next to the Larosa Flats.”

The two suspects were then arrested and detained at the Norwood Police Station.
