Joburg power outage on day six and counting

JOHANNESBURG – City Power to fix Joburg power outage by Saturday, check to see if your area is affected.

City Power has provided the assurance that power should be restored over the course of the weekend. 

City Power spokesperson Sol Masolo, said, “Between now and Saturday, we’ll be replacing damaged and stolen cables and any other infrastructure that is damaged within the underground tunnels.”

“We hope to finish the work on Friday night going into Saturday morning, with the view that on Saturday morning, we’ll start the process of switching on the areas that are affected. This means that if everything goes well, everybody will be switched on by Saturday morning. If we experience technical difficulties, this process could take an entire weekend.”

This power outage comes after cable thieves caused a fire on Sunday morning at an underground tunnel.
