Fast food, faster robbery

JOBURG – Man nabbed for robbery after placing a false order at Mochachos Norwood.

A man (20) is in the dock for robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Kgomotso Masha is accused of allegedly robbing a delivery man who works for Mochachos restaurant in Norwood.

The State alleged that on 4 May, the accused placed an order at Mochachos over the phone. When the driver arrived to deliver his order, the accused allegedly pointed a gun at the delivery man and demanded cash. The delivery man handed over R300 and the ordered food.

On 5 May, the accused allegedly placed another order and this time he robbed the delivery man of R4 000, food and an iPhone. On 8 May, Masha placed another order but this time Mochachos Norwood staff alerted the police before delivering his order.

After the delivery man arrived, police also arrived on the scene and found the suspect in possession of a firearm which turned out to be a toy gun. As the victims were under the impression that they were pointed with a firearm, Masha will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearm.

The suspect will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.
