Sandringham police apprehended one of four suspects who were in possession of a stolen vehicle in River Park on 13 August.
Spokesperson for Sandringham Police Station, Mohlaume Mamabolo said the suspects were noticed on 13 August with a black VW Polo with a number plate linked to a robbery in Honeydew.
“The moment the three suspects realised they were cornered by the police in River Park, they immediately fled the vehicle getting into another getaway vehicle,” said Mamabolo.
“The police gave chase, stopping the getaway [vehicle] and arresting the driver while the three initial suspects fled the scene on foot.”
The suspect appeared in Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 14 August.
The police are currently searching for the other suspects.
