Norwood police arrest 22 suspects in a week!

NORWOOD – Police urge residents to report all crimes in their suburb.

 

Norwood police arrested 22 suspects between 4 and 11 August for offences ranging from shoplifting to fraud.

This according to the Norwood Police Station spokesperson, Captain Elliot Tshivhase on 18 August, adding that some remain in police custody while others made bail.

The arrests are as follows:

  • 1 for theft
  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in a domestic violence case
  • 1 for fraud
  • 1 for possession of an unlicensed firearm
  • 1 for drunk driving
  • 1 for possession of dagga
  • 1 for common assault in a domestic violence case
  • 1 for driving without driver’s licence
  • 1 for dealing in liquor
  • 2 for warrant of arrests
  • 2 for housebreaking and theft
  • 2 for reckless and negligent driving
  • 2 for possession of stolen property
  • 5 for shoplifting.

“All suspects will appear in court. Police will continue to arrest those caught on the wrong side of the law, and investigations will continue on those still in custody,” said Tshivhase.
